A PARADIGM SHIFT FOR THE DAIRY SECTOR

The dairy industry market is experiencing a historical period of great change and structural downsizing.

In fact, on the one hand the global per capita consumption of milk has grown in the last year, not only in Europe and North America, but also (and above all) in developing countries such as Asia, Africa and some areas of Latin America; on the other hand, unlike in past years, this consumption growth was accompanied by a decrease in global production.

If the trend is confirmed, milk could become an increasingly scarce resource, marking the beginning of a new life cycle for the dairy sector, which is significantly different from the previous one and which we can define as a “new normal”.
