Senior Strategic Advisor with 30 years of experience in the FMCG – FOOD sector.
After graduating in Business Administration at Bari University in 1983, Massimo went on to obtain a Master in Advanced Services Industry at the Union-Chambers of Rome and then served his mandatory military service as an Officer in the Finance Police.
In 1985 he joined the BARILLA graduate trainee program as a Controller.
From 1989 to 1996 in GRAN MILANO – Tre Marie (part of the BARILLA Group) he was first Controller and then CFO and CIO.
From 1996 to 2003 in BARILLA he was Director of Planning, Control and Business Development of the Bakery Products Business Unit, Director of Group Planning and Control and Financial Director of the Bakery Products Business Unit.
From 2003 to 2007 he was General Manager of the BAKERY BUSINESS UNIT of BARILLA which includes the brands Mulino Bianco and Pavesi in Italy, Wasa in Germany and Scandinavia and HARRY’S in France and Russia. He is also a member of the AIDI Board (Associazione Industrie Dolciarie Italiane).
From 2007 to 2011 he was the first CEO of BARILLA G&R F.lli and later CEO of the BARILLA Group. He is also a member of the Italian and European ECR Board, UPA and CENTROMARCA.
From 2013 to 2014 he was CEO of PERNIGOTTI (TOKSOZ Group) and member of the AIDEPI Board (The Italian bakery and pasta industry association).
He has worked with Massimiliano Bruni for over 5 years, participating in check-up and strategic support projects as well as branding in medium and large companies.
